4’-O-Methylresveratrol is a stilbene that has been found in Rumex and has diverse biological activities.1,2,3,4 It inhibits growth of A549, SKOV3, SK-MEL-2, XF498, and HCT15 cancer cells (IC50s = 3.8, 5.7, 3.2, 5.6, and 6.7 ?g/ml, respectively).1 4’-O-Methylresveratrol (0.05-0.2 mM) inhibits rabbit platelet aggregation induced by collagen or arachidonic acid .2 It scavenges free radicals in a Trolox equivalent antioxidant capacity (TEAC) assay.3 4’-O-Methyresveratrol suppresses RANKL-induced osteoclastic differentiation of murine bone marrow-derived macrophages (BMDMs) and reduces LPS-induced bone loss in mice when administered at a dose of 50 mg/kg.4
